RackNerd
The reference for cheap promotional plans, and the community's first machine.
Price
We have not verified this vendor’s prices.
The official price page returned a bot check when we looked, so no numbers here. Their promo stock turns over fast, so the live page is the only meaningful one.
Who it suits
Learning, self-hosted services, a spare machine. People on a small budget with no route requirements.
Who it does not suit: Anyone who needs steady domestic access. Most of its plans run on ordinary international egress and will disappoint at peak hour.

Check these before you pay
- Work out which machine you are actually buying
Promo boxes, annual specials and regular plans differ completely in spec, traffic and route. The official price list returned a human-verification page when we checked it, so take the tier you actually see on the site as the reference.
- Its strength is the affiliate programme, not the price
RackNerd’s affiliate programme pays a 15% recurring commission (KVM VPS and similar), which is on the high side for a budget host. Its business model is promo-driven, so “lowest price” usually means a limited-time deal.
Questions
What is the affiliate commission?
The official affiliates page states 15% recurring on shared hosting, reseller hosting, KVM VPS, hybrid and dedicated servers, and 10% on dedicated servers, colocation, DRaaS and private cloud. Payout is via PayPal or account credit, available 30 days after the referral signs up.
What is its route like?
We could not verify an official statement about their routes. Budget promo hosts conventionally use ordinary international egress, with the return path on 163 or another backbone. Confirm it yourself with mtr.
Some merchant links on this site are affiliate links: we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Rankings are decided by route and use case only, never by commission rate.
