Who it suits
Anyone with budget to spare and a clear domestic-access requirement — proxying, relaying, or a public-facing site. It is the most expensive in its class, and the premium buys the return path.
Who it does not suit: Learning, practicing Linux, or simply wanting a box to run scripts on. Entry pricing starts too high for a learning machine.
Routes we list it under
Check these before you pay
- Ask which datacenter and which route
The same product name covers different datacenters, and the price can differ by a factor of two: the CN2 GIA ECOMMERCE series runs Telecom CN2 in Los Angeles and SoftBank transit in Japan, and there are separate OSAKA and HONG KONG product lines (the Hong Kong one costs noticeably more). Make the support agent write down the datacenter and the return path before you order.
- Check whether it is per quarter, half-year or annual
The quarterly and annual prices of one plan differ a lot. On the official price list the 20G CN2 GIA ECOMMERCE is $49.99 per quarter, while the ordinary 20G PROMO is $49.99 per year — nearly identical names, one year apart.
- It is strictly self-service, with no technical support
The official price list says so outright: Strictly self-managed service. Reinstalling, migrating and snapshots are all things you do yourself. The panel is good, but expecting support to fix your problem is unrealistic.
Questions
Where are its datacenters?
Products on the catalogue cover Los Angeles (China Telecom IDC on CN2 GIA), Japan (Equinix OS1 with 2.5 Gbps Softbank transit), Singapore (Equinix SG1), Hong Kong (Equinix HK2) and Dubai. The plain 20G/40G/80G PROMO plans are listed as available across multiple datacenters.
Are free backups and snapshots included?
Yes. Almost every plan on the catalogue lists free automatic backups and free snapshots, with nothing extra to buy.
What happens if the IP needs changing?
Standard plans list one dedicated IPv4 plus a routed IPv6 /64. The top ECOMMERCE SLA line adds "Free IP change once every 2 weeks". On standard plans an IP change is a paid ticket — ask support for the current rate.
Is there an SLA?
Standard plans carry a 99.95% uptime guarantee. The top ECOMMERCE SLA line is 99.99% Mission Critical with SOC 1/2 Type 2, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, PCI DSS and HIPAA listed. Note that 99.95% still allows roughly 4.4 hours of downtime a year.
